This research program, which is carried out in an educational institution, aims at designing a musical space for deaf students.How can we perceive the sounds around us with senses other than hearing? Can deaf people feel sounds, musical landscapes, conversations or even music? The muscial chair makes it possible to listen through other senses and it can be used for musical practice. It is an innovative multi sensory tool that enables one to listen to sounds with various parts of one’s body simultaneously. Using both touch and acoustics, this interfacing device amplifies vibrations and aids the perception of the sounds that one produces as they are being transmitted to others.
